Sublimation is the process by which an image printed on paper is transferred to another surface (or substrate). Unlike conventional inks, sublimation inks are converted directly from a solid to a gas under heat and pressure, causing them to bond with the fibers of synthetic materials such as polyester. The molecules of ink revert to a solid state upon cooling, permanently staining the surface of the polyester. What Do You Need To Get Started?   Computer PC based computer. A digital camera and color scanner for scanning artwork can also be used. Create layout using your graphic design software. Personalize by adding text. Epson Inkjet Printer Compatible Epson Inkjet Printer with sublimation ink cartridges. Current Epson printers are C86, 1280 and 4000. Print the design on an inkjet printer loaded with sublimation inks. Print as a mirror image into high quality inkjet paper.   Heat Press Heat transfer equipment; flat press, mug/cap press, plate press, etc. depending on what you intend to imprint. Preheat the heat press. Position the transfer and imprintable blank under the heat press. Apply heat and pressure.   Blank Imprintables Blank, poly coated imprintables. Can imprint t-shirts, mousepads, ceramics, tiles, mugs, plastics, woods and metal. Lift the press and remove the transfer.
